Frequently Asked Questions About Tubidy
Short answers about searching, formats, phones, safety and content, with links to the full guides.
Using Tubidy
What is Tubidy?
Tubidy is a free music website where you can search for songs and music videos and save them as MP3 audio, MP4 audio or MP4 video. It works in your phone or computer browser, with no app to install.
How do I use Tubidy?
This is how to use Tubidy: search for a song or artist, open the result you want and tap Download. Tubidy prepares the available formats; choose one and your browser saves the file.
Is Tubidy free to use?
Yes. Searching and downloading do not cost anything and do not need an account. The site is supported by advertising. Your mobile network may still charge for the data you use.
Do I need an account?
No. Searching and choosing a format work without signing in. The site offers sign-in for account features such as playlists.
How do I find the right song?
Search for the artist and song title together, then compare the title and duration of the results. Words such as Live, Remix or Official Audio show which version it is.
Formats and Downloads
Which formats and quality options are available?
The format table offers MP3 audio, MP4 audio and MP4 video. In our checks each format came in one quality, so there was no bitrate or resolution menu.
How big are the files?
It depends on the song and the format. A four-minute MP3 at 128 kbps is roughly 4 MB, and a music video is usually much larger than the MP3 of the same song.
Can I listen before I download?
Yes. Each option in the format table has a Play button, so you can check the song before you save it.
Can I download albums or movies?
Tubidy downloads one song or music video at a time; there is no one-click album download and no film catalog. Full-album uploads are saved as one long file.
Mobile Access
Do I need an app?
No. Tubidy works in your phone's browser, such as Chrome on Android or Safari on iPhone, so there is nothing to install.
Where are my downloaded files?
On Android, look in Downloads or the Files app. On iPhone, Safari saves files to Downloads in the Files app unless you changed its download location.
Can I listen offline?
Yes. Once a file is saved on your device, you can play it without a connection. Searching and opening pages still use data.
Safety and Support
Is Tubidy safe?
Use the Download button under the song title and in the format table, close any new tab that opens with another website, and do not open downloads that end in .exe or .apk.
Why did a new tab open when I tapped Download?
A button inside an advert was probably tapped. Close the tab, go back to the song page and use the Download button under the title.
Why is Tubidy not downloading?
Check your connection and free storage, make sure your browser allows downloads for the site, then try again or open another result for the same song.
How can I stop notifications?
Block the site in your browser's notification settings. In Chrome on Android, open Settings, then Site settings, then Notifications.
Is downloading from Tubidy legal?
It depends on the content, its licence and the law in your country. Downloading or sharing music without the rights holder's permission can break copyright rules. Read the Terms, and use music you have permission to use.
Artists and Content
Why can't I find a song?
Try a shorter search, another spelling of the artist or title, or search for the artist on their own. A very new release may not appear straight away.
Can I upload my own music?
We have not confirmed a feature for uploading your own music, so we cannot explain how to upload music on Tubidy. For questions about your music on the site, use the Contact page.
Where do Top Videos and the other song lists come from?
They are results of Tubidy's own music search for fixed topics, such as popular South African songs or a genre, and they refresh automatically every few hours. They are not picked by hand or ranked by play count.
How do I report a copyright problem?
Rights holders can ask for content to be removed from Tubidy search results through the copyright request page.
